Jordan & Kara had a beautiful fall day for their backyard reception. It started out cloudy and chilly, but then the sun came out, and it ended up being a nice, warm day for the reception. Jordan and Kara love hanging out with their friends and family, and their laid back day gave them the opportunity to do just that!
We started out with the first look at Kara’s house, and then moved to Glendale, Indiana for the formal portraits. The sun came out just in time for photos at Glendale Fish and Wildlife Area, and the noonday light, softened by the tree line made for some gorgeous photos in the tall grass. Make sure you scroll down to see their sweet laughter in one of my favorite photos from their day!
I love, love, loved Kara’s dress with the elegant bodice and chiffon layered skirt, as well as the beautiful hanging bouquet arranged by her talented mother, Rhoda. Rhoda did a superb job with the hanging bridal bouquet, the bridesmaids arrangements, and the boutonnieres. The soft colors were gorgeous paired against all the white and the emerald green of the bridesmaids dresses.
Can I just rave about all the beautiful music Jordan and Kara made available for everyone throughout their day starting with the prelude and ending at the reception? Kara’s cousin Nevin and wife Cynthia sang a duet with the accompaniment of piano and violin played by more cousins during the unity ceremony. At the reception we enjoyed old classics from Elvis and Sinatra, etc. played by pianist Ian Dayton while everyone enjoyed coffee or icecream (maybe both!) from the local coffee shop, Zax Creamery in Montgomery, Indiana. The music continued almost the entirety of the reception as everyone tasted the mouth-watering brisket or chicken tacos made by Wittmer’s Catering Co. in Loogootee, Indiana. I think it’s wonderful when good music is a priority at a wedding, and I loved it that Jordan and Kara thought so, too! 🙂
The cake-cutting was so much fun, and I loved Jordan’s happiness when it came to smashing that cake! The cute, pretty cake was done by Rachel Knepp. The gorgeous flower arrangements on the tables were arranged by Karen Graber.
Jordan and Kara, you had such a beautiful wedding! Congratulations!
